The story.
This was a "rescue" project that I bought. Timing chain had self destructed on the previous owner and I bought it to restore. I put in all brand new honda clutch plates, rear end bearings, several other bits as well. Stripped down to the bare frame, repainted. New rear tire. Front one is near mint. I tried to swap in a cylinder head from an 87 model as I knew it had good compression but I believe something may have cracked in the cylinder in the install as the first time I started it after the rebuild there was a coolant leak and I could never get compression again. All that to say, you likely need a cylinder out of the 85 model as there must be a slight difference in how they seat. Everything in else has been done on the bike from top to bottom and end to end.
These are great bikes and still very easy to get parts for. Flea-bay used or new...no problem.
Great winter project for someone as it takes about 10 minutes to drop the motor out and it's on the bench. I've lost interest in rescuing these old scoots and time to clear some inventory. Best offer or interesting trades considered. Has registration papers so it would be ready for the road come spring.
